Fauna and Flora:
Kwantu offers Game drives as well as walking safaris with an abundance of wildlife that visitors are able to encounter such as the 42 species of mammals including the Big Five which consists of the Rhino, Leopard, Lion, Cheetah and the Elephant. Other mammals at the game reserve include Varvet Monkeys, Chacma Baboons, Warthog, Zebra, Giraffe, Wildebeest and many of the common and rare antelope. Kwantu offers a large diversity bird watching of up to 250 bird species which include Guinea-Fowl, Spotted Eagle Owl, Black-Crowned night Heron, Lanner Falcon, Crested Barbet and more that visitors are able to encounter. Climate:
The climate encountered at Kwantu is pleasant and suitable for your wildlife experience. During the months of summer, from September through to March, temperatures range from 16 degrees to 26 degrees. In winter months from April through to August, Kwantu encounters temperatures ranging from 7 degrees to 20 degrees. Kwantu receives an annual rainfall of 281mm of rain with the lowest rainfall in July and the highest rainfall in March. On a whole the weather in the Eastern Cape is pleasant and good to visitors.
